Rules & Categories
Mechanical Requirements For Submissions
General Mechanical Requirements
All categories require video clips. (In the Special Production, Television Commercial, Short Subject and Student categories, the entire production must be provided.) All footage must be submitted as digital video files.
Acceptable formats for video files are listed on vimeo.com/help/compression.
Specific instructions are given for each category in the rules below, as well as within the submissions interface at submissions.annieawards.org.
Special Mechanical Requirements for VR Projects
If you are submitting a VR project in any category--Short Subject, Special Project or as any Individual Achievement category in the Television/Broadcast sector, you must upload a ‘flat’ version of the submitted project (for production categories) or clip (for achievement categories) through the submissions interface at submissions.annieawards.org.
At your option, you may also supply the links to the project app and link. However, judges may or may not be able to download and view full VR versions, and may or may not have access to a VE system. Therefore, in addition to the ‘flat’ version of the project, you may also set up an HMD viewing station at the ASIFA Center in Burbank. The viewing station must remain there for the entire term of the nomination committee phase (from October 28 to November 27).
Please communicate with email@example.com by October 18th to arrange details and determine if we’re able to accommodate your project’s full setup.
