PRODUCTION CATEGORIES

1. Annie Award for Best Animated Feature
An Annie Award for Best Animated Feature shall be awarded to an animated feature in recognition of creative excellence in the art of animation.
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive this award, an animated feature must have originally been released theatrically between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2003.
Mechanical Requirements for Entry: A VHS videocassette with clips from the production, not exceeding five minutes in length, along with a VHS videocassette of the entire production. Be sure to label the cassette and cassette box as indicated under Submission and Mechanical Requirements. Also please include a copy of the entry form with the material submitted.

2. Annie Award for Best Animated Home Entertainment Production
An Annie Award for Best Animated Home Entertainment Production shall be awarded to an animated production in recognition of creative excellence in the art of animation.
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive this award, an animated home entertainment production must have been originally produced for, and released on, DVD or video, between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2003. Compilations or animated productions that originally premiered in other media (e.g., theatrical or television) and were later released to home video are not eligible for this award.
Mechanical Requirements for Entry: A VHS videocassette with clips from the production, not exceeding five minutes in length, along with a VHS videocassette of the entire production. Be sure to label the cassette and cassette box as indicated under Submission and Mechanical Requirements. Also please include a copy of the entry form with the material submitted.

3. Annie Award for Best Animated Short Subject
An Annie Award for Best Animated Short Subject shall be awarded to an animated short subject in recognition of creative excellence in the field of animation.
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive this award, an animated short subject must have been originally exhibited or released on any media (e.g., theatrical, television, Internet, etc.) between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2003. An animated short subject running time may not exceed forty (40) minutes in length, in order to qualify as a short subject. Individual segments from an animated television program, television specials or pilots are not eligible for this award. Animated main title, interstitials and trailers may also be considered for this honor.
Mechanical Requirements for Entry: A VHS videocassette of the entire production. Be sure to label the cassette and cassette box as indicated under Submission and Mechanical Requirements. Also please include a copy of the entry form with the tape submitted.

4. Annie Award for Best Animated Television Commercial An Annie Award for Best Animated Television Commercial shall be awarded to an animated television commercial in recognition of creative excellence in the art of animation.
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive this award, an animated television commercial must have originally appeared on television between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2003. In cases where multiple commercials are part of an advertising campaign, each spot must be submitted as a separate entry.
Mechanical Requirements for Entry: A VHS videocassette of the entire production. Be sure to label the cassette and cassette box as indicated under Submission and Mechanical Requirements. Also please include a copy of the entry form with the tape submitted.

5. Annie Award for Best Animated Television Production
An Annie Award for Best Animated Television Production shall be awarded to an animated television series or animated television special in recognition of creative excellence in the art of animation.
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive this award an animated television program must have appeared on television between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2003. Re-runs or animated productions that originally premiered in other media (i.e. theatrical or home entertainment) and were later shown on television are not eligible for this award. Productions entered in this category shall not be eligible for award consideration in the Annie Award for Best Animated Television Production Produced for Children category.
Mechanical Requirements for Entry: A VHS videocassette with clips from the production, not exceeding five minutes in length, along with a VHS videocassette of the entire production. Be sure to label the cassette and cassette box as indicated under Submission and Mechanical Requirements. Also please include a copy of the entry form with the material submitted.

6. Annie Award for Best Animated Television Production Produced For Children
An Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Television Production Produced for Children shall be awarded to an animated television series or animated television special in recognition of creative excellence in the art of animation.
Eligibility: To be eligible to receive this award an animated television program should be aimed at a children' s audience, and must have appeared on television between January 1, 2003 and December 31, 2003. Re-runs or animated productions that originally premiered in other media (i.e. theatrical or home entertainment) and were later shown on television are not eligible for this award. Productions entered in this category shall not be eligible for award consideration in the Annie Award for Best Animated Television Production category.
Mechanical Requirements for Entry: A VHS videocassette with clips from the production, not exceeding five minutes in length, along with a VHS videocassette of the entire production. Be sure to label the cassette and cassette box as indicated under Submission and Mechanical Requirements. Also please include a copy of the entry form with the material submitted.
